Abstract

This article aimed to describe the experience of building a specialization course for managers of the Family Health Strategy as an innovative role for the quality and resolvability Primary Health Care (PHC) in the Federal District of Brazil. The methodology was guided by the following steps: mapping of educational and health regulations, in the context of the Federal District Government; review of the literature on work and managerial skills in PHC; and on-site observation of discussions held at Federal District Health Department management events. The results identified the skills and themes to be worked on during the specialization course, based on the reality of the work of these managers in the territories. Based on the findings, the course’s pedagogical path was developed, based on the assumptions of Permanent Health Education, articulated with the ergo-training framework, the guidelines for distance education in health and the normative bases of PHC
