This study characterizes the living conditions and health situation of families that live on family farming and artisanal fishing in hinterland of Ceará. This is a descriptive research with quantitative approach and cross-sectional design carried out through interviews with 152 family farmers and/or artisanal fishermen who live in Novo Oriente, Ceara, Brazil. The statistical analysis was performed with absolute and relative frequency, arithmetic mean and standard deviation. Some vulnerabilities experienced by families: deficiency in the treatment of drinking water (19.5% n = 29), existence of environmental problems (25.7% n = 39), unsatisfactory family production (26.6% n = 40 ), low family income (34.6% n = 47), absence of schools (75% n = 114) or daycare centers (88.2% n = 134), lack of leisure options (51.3% n = 78 ) and food insecurity (37.5% n = 57). Stands out prevalence of chronic diseases, such as cardiovascular and mental. This reality is contradictory with the goals proposed by the SDG: zero hunger; good health and well-being; quality education; clean water and sanitation; decent employment and economic growth; reducing inequalities. Health actions cannot be separated from these inequities, coordination between governments, companies and citizens must be sought to achieve goals of 2030 Agenda.
