Consumption and impacts of agrochemicals in Colombia: poisoned communities

Abstract

The agrochemicals widely used in the world have caused deaths and lethal diseases in living beings, in the case of Colombia, a country that produces pesticides, the consequences are envisioned in different communities, but their studies have been limited, which does not allow obtain a real panorama of the consequences of the green revolution model in the country, however, the results of poisonings from the national institute of health and some academic works allow us to present a look at the consumption of pesticides and their impacts on health and in the environment, which is the object of this article, initially presenting a general context of social inequality and access to land in Colombia, as well as the main companies and their sales in Colombia, finally the investigative compilation on environmental impacts and on the Health.
