Abstract

Intersectoral networking is a challenge for the attention of women in situations of gender-based violence. The qualitative research that this article deals with was used in a case study to investigate the possibilities of building an intersectoral network between basic health care and services specialized in care for women, specifically in the central region of Rio de Janeiro. Data collected through semi-structured interviews and observation of services were submitted to content analysis. For the present article, we analyzed: the current system of services; – the relationship between basic care and specialized services; and – the role of basic care in the integral care of women in situations of violence. The results point out that there is a tendency to build a network of assistance, although several institutional obstacles and the care culture of each type of service generate an even less integrated configuration as a network, aiming at the referral centers for attention in gendered-based violence with the greatest potential to seamlessly act in a network, especially in the relationship with the health sector.
