Abstract

The objective of this study was to develop and validate an application for the clinical manage-
ment of syphilis during pregnancy. This methodological approach was developed in two phases: development

and validation of the application. The Concordance Index (CI), the Content Validation Index (CVI), the
Appearance Validation Index (IVA) and the Binomial test were used for data analysis. The Research Ethics
Committee of the Federal University of Piauí issued a favorable opinion on the research. The content was
validated by 13 judges and the semantic analysis was performed with 13 professionals, including physicians
and nurses. The validation of the instrument resulted in an overall CI of 100%, with all items evaluated being
considered valid by the CVI and IVA. Statistical analysis using the Binomial test demonstrated agreement
between the evaluators and observed that all items had 85% agreement in all responses. SIGest provides
updated and validated information about the clinical management of syphilis, facilitating more accurate
and timely decision-making.
