The meaning of care for women victims of Domestic Violence in the context of Primary Health Care

The objective was to understand the meaning of care for women victims of domestic violence from the perspective of primary health care professionals. A descriptive, qualitative study was carried out, with the Social Phenomenology approach of Alfred Schütz. Twenty-two municipalities of the 10th Health Regional of Paraná`s professionals participated in the research. Information was collected between April and September 2020, by telephone, through a phenomenological interview, using the RecorderR application, and analyzed according to the phenomenological method. The following categories were constructed: domestic violence as something very common and complex; low demand for care given the large number of cases and; lack of knowledge about care. The study contributes to the understanding of care for victims in the research`s context, the challenges for integrality and for the reflection and elaboration of health policies focused on the theme.
